A step-by-step on how mobile payments work with Payconiq by Bancontact
Digitalisation is moving incredibly fast. Digital payments have also become part of our society. Today, millions of Belgians are already making mobile payments with the Payconiq by Bancontact app, yet not everyone is fully digitally on board.
Digitalisation is moving incredibly fast. Digital payments have also become part of our society. Today, millions of Belgians are already making mobile payments with the Payconiq by Bancontact app, yet not everyone is fully digitally on board.
Therefore, we try to make the Payconiq by Bancontact app as accessible as possible to everyone. We aim to better guide people who are less digital savvy, so we have developed a toolkit to help them install and use the app more smoothly. The toolkit consists of flyers and posters and is the perfect tool for digital helpers or buddies who help people get started digitally.
Toolkit
The kit contains two modules: a starter kit with a step-by-step plan on how to install the Payconiq by Bancontact app, and a second module with information on how to pay with the app and the additional features it offers.
This information will be used and offered by the municipalities and by organisations and platforms that collect useful inclusive information and tools, such as Mediawijs (in Flanders and Brussels) and les Espaces Publiques Numériques (in Wallonia and Brussels).
You can also discover the material on our website.
Course package
In addition to the digital toolkit, we also launched an educational teaching package for first-year secondary schools, with tips on how to be smart about mobile payments. Because many young people today already pay with their smartphone, but what do they really know about mobile payments? Do they think about the security of their payment app? Can they recognise phishing? And what about savings: should they should they already start now? Discover the interactive lessons on the Plantyn website.
